Saving God: The Evolution of Religion

“God” has become a word loaded with meaning across culture, representing in large part both the upside and the downside of organized religion. Once a haven for spiritual truth, organized religion has mostly become the product of multiple political, and socio-economic agendas, diluting the message of a Love designed to transform the world.
Paul Smith says this of the Christian movement: “Christianity began in Palestine as an experience. It moved to Greece and become a philosophy. It moved to Italy and became an institution and it moved to America and became a business.”
So, through all of this – can God be saved? Love shouts a resounding YES! This Sunday, we will explore the essence of this Love message, discovering a potency that re-enlivens the word “God” and repurposes our religious institutions. The next evolution of religion lies in the fire of our hearts – our one true temple.
